Bernie is fortunate to have one of the rooms with a panoramic window view of the new hospital, parking garages, and even some trees. 2 of our 4 walls are all windows, giving us access to knowing exactly what the weather is doing. This is quite rare for any hospital room! Access to natural light is such a privilege around here.
We are on the waiting list for the Ronald McDonald House. This place is packed and no one seems quite ready to leave. Until then, we accept the lovely hospitality of a friend.
We were able to experience a tornado drill last night. Everyone had to leave their rooms for about 45 minutes and head into the hallways or windowless playrooms. It was quite a site seeing so many people camped out in the hall.
Did you know they still do IV's during a tornado warning? We went in one of the little treatment rooms, and it was traumatic. No sugar coating there. Fortunately, the 5 adults in the small, windowless storage room got it in on the first try. The only real devastation during the weather related configuration was Bernie's massive blow out in the playroom, requiring a diaper change in the treatment room as well.
Jeff slept overnight in the room with Bern, but both seemed to be in good spirits by the time I got there early this morning.
Bernie was quite excited to get her new room decorations though.
And it was even better when Bern got her eggs this morning...
We are scheduled to be the 3rd case on Tuesday in the cath lab and 1st case to the O.R. on Wednesday. Until then...we hang out. Thanks for your cyber love!
